Believe it or not, MMA is not new. It’s been around for thousands of years. If I was looking for an MMA gym near me, I’d look for one that offered Muay Thai training as well, to expand what I’ve learned from boxing and kickboxing–to teach me to use my knees and elbows in close situations. I’d also want to find an MMA gym that taught Brazilian jui jitsu training near me so I would not be limited to standing up, striking, and kicking; I would also be able to go to the ground and roll with my opponent if necessary.
